Regulatory Reform, Travel Tips & Staff Update

July 1, 2010

Dear Friends and Family,

“Liberty is the right to choose. Freedom is the result of the right choice.” Happy 4th of July to all!

The Restoring American Financial Stability Act of 2010 is the most comprehensive rewrite of Wall Street rules since the Great Depression. It affects everything from debit cards to complex securities. Reforms include a financial risk warning system, a consumer financial protection bureau, and liquidation rules for failing firms.

Are you traveling this summer? Americans are having difficulty using credit cards abroad due to incompatible technology. Many countries use “chip-and-PIN” cards, while U.S. cards still use magnetic strips. Be prepared with alternative payment methods, especially for kiosks and vending machines.

From Julie: As of July 1, I am leaving Katz Family Financial Advisors. Thank you for the opportunity to work with you these past five years. I will miss our clients and team.

From Larry: Goodbye and good luck to Julie! She’s accepted a new role closer to home. Vicki Callaghan, with 18 years of experience, will continue supporting our clients. Please contact her at 425-657-2208 or 1-877-657-2205.

Sincerely,

Katz Family Financial
