March 1, 2008

Dear Friends and Family,

Spring is coming and soon it will tax filing deadline. A reminder, the deadline for 2007 IRA & Roth IRA contributions is April 15th. Be sure to check to make sure you have made contributions for prior year, 2007. We are here to assist you if you have any questions regarding your contributions.

Do you sometimes feel like you are drowning in Fidelity Statements? Did you know there is a householding form that you can sign and all of your statements will come in one envelope? Better for you and better for our environment. Call Vicki at 425-657-2208 or email her at vicki@katzfamilyfinancial.com to request a householding form today.

More than 500 million checks are forged annually. There are sophisticated security features built into checks to help consumers, businesses and banks avoid check fraud. Look for these features:

  • Microprint signature line. The signature line appears as a solid line and contains the words “Authorized Signature” printed in a small font.
  • Padlock icon. A padlock symbol is printed on the check face to indicate that at least two easily seen security features are present.
  • Security warning box. A warning box printed on the back of the check indicates security features present and what happens when a check is altered.
  • Original document. “Original Document” is printed in very light ink on the back of the check so that it cannot be easily copied or scanned.

We provide this information in our continuing effort to protect our clients from fraud and identity theft. Be sure to shred all mail and documents that contain your personal sensitive information, a cross-cut shredder works the best.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns regarding your investments, the markets and our economy, please call on any one of us. We welcome the opportunity to discuss this with you.

Sincerely,

Katz Family Financial
