A Generational Opportunity
May 1, 2015
Last chance in a generation?
The U.S. has a long history of embracing immigrants. These immigrants are generally self-selected for success. These immigrants take major risks leaving their homeland and safety net to find opportunity in a foreign land. They are also selected by our system to be the best of the best. They are either family of residents or citizens, or they are the most successful and desirable of their home country.
The Pew Research Center estimates that immigration will account for 88% of U.S. population growth by 2065. Today’s immigration is similar to the waves that brought Irish, Italian, Jewish, Chinese and Japanese immigrants in the past.
Today we have a generational opportunity to invest in U.S. stocks, a unique asset class benefiting from American dynamism, immigrants, a fair legal system, innovation, flexibility, and honest reporting. These are the same factors that will make the U.S. the world’s growth engine in the years ahead.
We believe this is not the time to retreat from markets, but to participate in quality U.S. businesses that reward owners with earnings growth and shareholder returns. If you have cash on the sidelines, please speak with us about ways to enter or re-enter the market with your goals and time horizon in mind.
Sincerely,
Katz Family Financial
